Do I have a chance of getting into Newhouse?

<p>I'm currently a junior, and I'm interested in Syracuse University's Newhouse School. Do I have a chance of getting in?</p>

<ul>
<li>I have an unweighted GPA of 3.8</li>
<li>My weighted GPA is slightly higher than a 4.0</li>
<li>I'm a sections editor of my school newspaper, I've written for the school paper all though high school</li>
<li>I'm most likely going to be Editor in Cheif of the paper my senior year</li>
<li>I write for local papers and club magazines</li>
<li>I'm the leader of my local youth group</li>
<li>I am a regional representative for my youth group</li>
<li>I took the Princeton Review's practice SAT (I'm taking the real one in the spring) and got 730 for CR, 620 for W, and 540 for M.</li>
<li>I got a 5 on the APUSH exam and am currently taking AP English Language & Composition</li>
</ul>

<p>What are my chances? What should I do to improve my chances?</p>

<p>Practice hard for the SAT.
Try to raise your writing above 700 and your math score to around 650.
If you write a good essay, you have a good chance of getting in.</p>

<p>Also, look for internships at local newspapers or broadcasting stations.</p>
