Do I have a chance of getting into NYU?

I'm applying to the Global Liberal Studies.
GPA unweighted: 3.785
GPA weighted: 4.4
SAT scores: 1860 (670 CR 620 Writing 550!! >:( Math)
I'm 9th in my class of 252.
I have 4 AP classes and some pretty great EC (in my opinion??)
My essays are pretty decent, but I could be talking myself up or down a little.
I've only taken the SAT once though, that was my first try and I'm taking it and the ACT in December.

I know my SAT scores are not very good, I have severe test anxiety but I don't like to take the medicine they give because it makes me sleepy and really stupid. I don't know, overall my numbers seem just pretty average but my EC are things that I'm passionate about and not just doing to look good. I.G. I volunteer with a local non-profit dedicated to preventing a harmful cement plant from being built on top of a major aquifer. I want to go to NYU because I feel that it fits in with my own focuses on social change and knowledge about other cultures. Tell me what you think please!

An Ivy League would seem out of reach for me. However, it is possible that you can get into NYU. I would say you have a good chance. :)

Your GPA is in-range but your test scores are low, I think focusing on the ACT is a good idea - good luck

Also, look at SAT-optional universities. There are a couple good ones (Wake Forest, Bowdoin, etc.)
