do i have a chance of getting into UCLA?

I am a freshman from Illinois and have been dreaming about going to UCLA since 6th grade… i know i have three years but for right now do you think i have a chance of getting in? i have a GPA of 4.3 weighted and a 3.6 unweighted. i am ranked 33 weighted which means im in the top 3% and unweighted im ranked 82 (out of 901) which is top 9%. i am in student government and in track and volunteer at a counseling center once a week. Do you think i have any chance of getting in at this rate? also i am a Caucasian female who has no financial issues at all and im going into the nursing program. thanks for all the help!

Honestly it’s too early to chance. Here are stats for last year.

Also fees will likely increase. This year’s nonresident costs are approx $55K.

I agree it is too early to chance. After your Junior year, post your Stats and CC posters will be able to give you more realistic chances. Keep up the good work and use the above posted link to give you an idea of you need to strive for in GPA and SAT/ACT scores.

You can see the admit/accept rates at http://www.aim.ucla.edu/tables/admissions_college_fr.aspx In 2014 there were 1,888 applicants to nursing and 50 were admitted, which is 2.6%. So your chances, anybody’s chances, are not good.

Note that if you select Nursing at UCLA when you apply they will not consider you for an alternate major should you be denied for nursing.

You also ought to contact the dept and find out if they even consider OOS applicants for nursing. It may be reserved for CA residents only.

Keep up the good work! I just got into the School of Nursing at UCLA and I’m going to start in the fall. If you have any questions about my stats just let me know!
