Hey you guys!,
I am an upcoming freshman and I am kind of unsure about where I will go for college.
I was planning on going to UCF and got accepted and everything, but we had to move to Missouri. Since most colleges’ deadlines have passed already, I am planning on attending Forest Park community college Honors Program, then transferring to UWSTL.
I am so nervous about it since I am not sure whether I have a chance of acceptance or not.
I am planning on majoring in bio medical sciences as a Pre-med.
I am from Syria and moved to the US in my Senior High School Year. So, I really didn’t get a chance to accomplish much.
My stats in High School were the following:
GPA:4.0999 (Weighted) 3.9 (Unweighted)
ECs: PIT Crew( Tutoring Club)
National Honor Society
Mathematics Honor Society
My ACT is bad because I didn’t speak English very well. I had a (19) Composite.
SAT is 1510 Composite.
I am reallllly worried about not being able to transfer to any college because of my stats.
What do you guys recommend to do? Will I get a shot if I did fantastic in college,or I am pretty much hopeless? Do you think colleges will take into consideration that I really had no chance to accomplish anything during High School and I was new to the country and stuff???
Thanks!
Look at section D5 of their Common Data Set - http://wustl.edu/policies/assets/pdfs/wustl%20cds%202012-2013.pdf SATs are only required of some students which usually means those who have less than two years of college. So if you do well in those two years you have a shot (though you can see from section D2 it’s only around 6%).
