hi

i just became junior in undergrad and my major is biology (pre-vet). my gpa is really low right now, 1.75 but starting this semester until graduation which for me would be summer or fall 2014, i'm doing what i need to get straight A's from here on out. my gpa will probably be 2.7-2.9 and then maybe i'll think about doing a post bac program to increase the gpa a little more.

my gpa has been horrible because of lack of motivation, financial stress, and mental health. before i was a biology major, i was a nursing major; i changed it to biology in march 2011. i couldnt help that mental health was interring with my academics, but i have a different look on life and if the veterinary field is what i want, then i have to handle stress better and not be afraid to blame myself for my mistakes and not taking my future serious.

i'm interested in going to ohio state, u of illinois- urbana, and maybe michigan or texas a&m.
i really have my eye on u of illinois and then ohio state second since i'm in ohio.

i want to become a vet because i think it's fascinating that animals have alot in common with humans, especially healthwise. i've always had cats as pets and if there was something wrong and small enough for me to handle, i would be glad to take care of whatever my cat couldnt do on its own.

even with this low gpa, not enough animal experience, and all these obstacles that i will be going through, i'm still pushing myself to get to where i want to be. i do have a backup plan, which is vet tech. but i think getting my bachelors would be a waste.
