Hi CCers,

I'm applying to Cornell for transfer admission. Intended major is hotel administration. My gpa is a 3.53 with 41 credits under my belt. Current school is public and ranked ~50.

Some other things:
- decent EC with some field-related internships
- good essay
- recommendation letter from a professor graduated from Cornell

Do you guys think I have a chance getting into the school?

Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, a very high number of 4.0’s get rejected so I’d say no.

You have a small chance, high school graduates with 3.5’s get accepted and a 3.5 from a transfer looks like a 3.7 from a freshman (my opinion). So go for it. You could always wait to increase your gpa though. How are your sat/act scores?

I’d say very slim chance, realistically.

Thanks for replying;) my sat is 2060 (CR is 680). I also think it’s a really slim chance but I will try it.
