Hey everybody
I’m a 16 year old student from Kosovo that lives in Belgium and I want to apply to Harvard in my last year of high school. Before I ask you whether I stand a chance or not I would like to tell you something more about me and my family.
I have 4 sisters and 1 brother. When I was 4 years old we lived in Kosovo and when my father passed away we immigrated to Belgium. My mother was 32 years old with 5 little kids. She didn’t know anybody from Belgium and she couldn’t speak the language. So she started working as a cleaninglady and raised us and educated us with a minimum income. (My mother earns €10.000 a year)
We all do very well in school but we never had the oppertunity to do EC activities because we didn’t have the money for it. When I was 15 years old, I started working whenever and wherever I could just to help my mother. Now I would like to know if I have a chance at Harvard? I didn’t take the SAT yet but I know that Harvard finds it very important that students enroll in different EC activities. Will this make a huge difference in my application?
Thanking you in advance
