DO i Have a chance?

I got a 2170 on my SAT score but a low average, I'm a junior right now with 4 AP classes and an average about an 82 right now in AP calculus and probably an 82 average in AP chemistry right now as well. I did alright for my other 2 AP classes but for the past 2 quarters my average has been an 89,90. I will be taking 5 AP exams this May.

I'm involved in ALOT of activities, varsity sports, orchestra, piano accompanist, various school clubs, tri m, nhs. I also participated in the Ritsumeikan Super Science Fair. However, I was told that colleges look very heavily on grades and my grades, to be honest, are not good enough for highly selective schools. I would like to apply to Oberlin College but i feel that my grades are too low to merit any consideration. I had a 94 average my freshman year and a 93 average my sophomore year.

Also, this is the first year that i took any really advanced classes like ap classes and my class rank probably isn't high up there. However there are about 45 students in my grade so i would probably be in the top 20%

before that the only advanced courses i took was math
I think as a major for college I'll have to pick one of the sciences because it is easier for girls to get into tech schools because of the disproportioned male to female ratio. however, I don't really like to continue on the lines of science but I really dont know what else to do with my life.

I think that Oberlin’s average GPA is actually not as high as you might think; lots of other factors come into play as well. If Oberlin seems like a good fit and you can write a good essay and get good recommendations, then I see no reason why you couldn’t at least apply to it as a “reach” school. One thing I advise is that while advanced high school classes are not always indicators of success in college, Oberlin’s courses are indeed challenging, so taking advanced courses might be a way to prepare yourself and get a sense if you want that sort of intense environment.
