I am an out of state student with a 3.8 gpa at the top academic school in Florida and a 1270 superscorer Sat and a 1240 not supercore. I have been very active an a charitable organization for all of high school and have pretty solid extracurriculars. I applied to the college of arts and sciences. Do I have a shot?

You mean the College of Liberal Arts.

What’s your class rank? That’s probably more important than anything else. A 1270 SAT is pretty good for COLA, but not really great for an OOS.

@scharf25: What is your SAT I score out of 2400 and what is your rank? How well-written were you essays? Did you submit a recommendation letter? These things could help determine your chances more accurately, although none can describe your chances as accurately as an admissions officer … My advice would be to submit a rec letter if you haven’t and wait it out without getting to worried about it.

My essays were pretty well written and I have a good recommendation from the head of the charity that i’ve been helping out. My high school does not rank. My SAT score out of 2400 is a 1910 superscore and an 1880 without superscore.

Do they really look at the class rank a lot? I i’m 16 out of 451 which is top 3%. do you think i can be accepted for nursing? I wrote three essays and three rec letters from science, english and band teachers. I have 4.17 GPA and got 29 on the ACT.

I have a very solid extracurricular( including many officer positions and music accomplishments), working experiences, and volunteer works. and my status on UT status webpage says “In-state Residency”

Thank you
