Blue eyes:
you'll probably get the max, which is 16000, i think. You're a very strong applicant, in all areas. i ko=now a girl there with a 26 ACT but they gave her 10000 just for ECs. With your scores, ECs, grades, you'll definetly get a good package. I think they'll look at you writing score, and it can help u, but i doubt it is really important.
anyhow, congrats on what looks like an awesome transcript

East coaster:
Actually you have a good chance. you class rank is good, and your SAT is well above the average. Don;t worry about ACT, b/c u have a good SAT. Also they look at the entire app, so don't stress about test scores. Keep up the EC's and maybe add one or two. But you definetly have a chance, and being from the east coast and being African America will help too.
Good luck

Has anyone received their decision from IWU yet? Their process of reviewing applications is kind of elusive compared to the other schools. My application was in well over a month ago, but I really don't want to have to wait until June.

Also, does anyone know anything about the CIC at IWU?

I heard that they don't often offer admission until after you have had a campus visit. If you live far away or for some reason are unable to visit email your admissions consuelor and let them know, because otherwise they may keep holding off notifying you. If you have already had a visit then it might just be taking a while becuase of the recent holiday. But if you don't hear back by the middle of february, u may want to check with the admissions office. Also are u sure that they recieved everything in you app, like transcripts, letters of rec?

Hmmm... that's interesting. I hadn't heard that. But yes, I have visited the university, so they won't be able to count that against me. Also, I got a letter in the mail about a month ago saying that everything was in. The only reason that I'm sort of anxious is that I kind of want to know where I stand before the tuition exchange scholarship comes up. Since my mother is a professor at a school in corsortium with IWU, there's a good possibility that I could go tuition free. That would end the college search and make the rest of my Senior year so much more enjoyable!

When I visited they said that they didn't review applications in any particular order. I'm just hoping that that doesn't mean that I'm at the bottom of some academic pile while they're focusing on getting athletes. Since I usually engage myself in music and academic ECs, I don't really have too much to offer as far as kicking, throwing, or hitting a ball are concerned.

EastCoaster7, you need to improve your SAT or ACT, but your GPA is well above average.

I sent in my application around Dec. 15th and was accepted towards the end of January. I hadn't visited campus, but they called me after I was accepted and strongly encouarged me to visit. I am going to the open house in February. Is anyone else going to that too?
Also, does anyone know anything about the scholarship for non-music majors. I am auditioning for that and would like to know what to expect. The info on the website was pretty vague.

hey klio33, there is a music scholarship for non-major called Jennings, which is $500 renewable award. If you have your ACT above 28 (or SAT above 1200), you will most likely get merit award in addition to Jennings.

EastCoaster7, I'm sorry I haven't been able to talk to you. I am applying as an RA and also working on a research credit so I've been pretty busy. I hope I can catch you one of these days.

Good luck for both of you.
