Which schools do you think I even have a chance at getting into? Any suggestions on what I should do to make my application a bit more competitive?

Oh, I’m looking to transfer in Fall of 2014. By that time I should have around 45 credits total. I have a 3.7 GPA right now, I’m sure I can get at least two great letters of recommendation by the time I need to apply as well. I will be leaving my University for personal reasons. It just doesn’t fit me. I’m looking for a school that’s not too big on Greek life, one that is a bit more liberal than conservative (Nothing extreme though). Also a school that isn’t full of religious people (I’m not atheist but I don’t exactly like being surrounded by religious people). A smaller school is probably what I should be looking for. I don’t drink because I just don’t like the taste of alcohol, so I guess I’m not exactly a big partier. I’ve given up on my High School ways, and I’ve been working very hard in all of my courses.

If I keep my GPA up (Maybe even get it a little bit higher), how do you think I would fair against other applicants? My course load is not exactly the easiest (Not THAT difficult either of course), so hopefully colleges will notice that.
If anyone has suggestions on a school that fits my personality let me know please. I appreciate any help at all!

I think you have a pretty fair chance at all of those schools. I have similar SAT/ACT scores to you, and I also want to transfer to UNC Chapel Hill, so I hope you can get in! You’ve taken a pretty difficult course load so that will boost your chances. If you’re able to get your GPA even higher, maybe like a 3.8 overall, I would say you’re almost a lock at all of those schools.

I’ll just go ahead and say that Vanderbilt is pretty conservative from what I’ve heard, so you may not fit in well there, but again, it’s all subjective. UNC is about 70%-30% liberal, and even though there is a party scene of sorts, it’s not big enough that you can’t avoid it. I think you would really like UNC. Good luck!
