I wanted to give the best description I could so that people could try to chance me. I love everything this school has to offer and hope what I have is simply good enough. Please give me some feedback! Thanks.

You look like a great candidate. I have on DS at VaTech and one starting JMU next week (picked JMU over VT after accepted to both so I understand how people love it) Best of luck.

Thanks! I’m hoping for the best!

You look like a good applicant from OOS. Have you considered taking SAT again, or maybe ACT to get your scores up a bit?

Yes I’m planning on taking the SAT again and trying the ACT at least once. Thanks for the reply!

My son found the ACT much easier for him…good idea to try both

It probably would be a good idea to look up the JMU admissions counselor for your area, contact them directly through email, and ask them what else you could do to improve your chance at admission. And get your application done early. Showing interest in the school is a good thing.

By the way, my son graduated JMU in May 2012, CS major, we are OOS from NY, he had two job offers by July, began working in August, and stayed in Virginia because he likes it very much. Only good things to say about JMU from us!

As an early-action applicant, I expect to hear back within the next month and a half! So far I have been accepted to Rutgers and WVU. JMU is my number one school currently! I’m so excited to hear back yet so nervous at the same time!

Please continue to chance me! Thanks!

Honestly, the discrepancy between your SAT and gpa won’t look good. How does your high school rank nationally/in your state? Other than that, your ECs are very strong along with your courses, so I think you will be accepted.

My school has consistently ranked among some of the best in the state. Recently my school ranked 2nd in Best Public High Schools in the state. I do understand that the differences between my GPA and SAT aren’t very good (I’ve always struggled with standardized tests). I’m trying my best to stay positive though! Thank you so much for your response!
