Do I have a chance?

I always used to think Cornell was a level above me until i read the average ACT score for the business school is 28.4. I'm hoping i have a chance, what do you guys think? The thing I'm most worried about is my rank.

ACT: 29 (Retaking in a week)
GPA 3.9 W 3.7 UW
Rank: Top 30%
SAT IIs I just took yesterday
4 APs 2 Honors by the time i graduate

Captain of football team
3 year football letterman
2 year weight lifter of the year
Lineman of the year
All conference football
Academic all state
Academic letterman
Got second overall in the We The People competition at the regional level (around 20 other groups)
Student Senate, 9th and 12th grades

I also have held three jobs

lol the business school

what’s that supposed to mean? The school was ranked 14th for undergraduate by businessweek

30% of your school has 3.7 unweighted?

You’re school must be crazy easy, bro.

also lol the business school

so are you going to chance it or be a dick?

are you gonna research the school before or just apply cause its an iv?>

I did. Like i said, the business school is often ranked in the top twenty and i’m interested in the New York area. I don’t care that it’s an Ivy, if i manage to get into NYU stern I’ll go there instead anyways

I don’t believe Cornell has an undergraduate business school…

The only thing closely related is the AEM program…

HAVE A GREAT DAY.

FACE 10char

http://business.aem.cornell.edu/overview/index.htm#quick

I meant the AEM. It seems a lot more selective though than i had thought so probably not.

hahhaa…as older CC members, we must try not be TOO mean to noobies..

I’d say you have a decent shot shanekennedy. You’re def. not out of the running to be an AEM admit, but it IS one of the most competitive majors to get into at Cornell.

I think football will actually help you A LOT. Cornell sucks at football (unfortunatly), and that is not a common EC for this school. Like yousonofatree said, AEM is VERY difficult, but you have a shot. Try to show a side of you in your supp. essay that is very… well lack of a better term, businessy.

Agreed, Cornell blows at football, you’d make a nice addition. Plus, you seem like a solid student athlete. This may work.

yupp, use that “hook” to your advantage

I was planning on submitting the essay i wrote for NYU on football and how it has effected my life. Do you think i should write another one that is based more on the lines of business or use the football one because it’s a decent hook?

I would combine them, and connect football with business, if you can. THAT would be great!

An athlete going into AEM, who’d have thought?

i dont think the athletics will help youunless you got recruited…and sorry if you are and i missed the post.

kinda rare, isnt it, norcalguy? lol

Even if football doesn’t help me (I don’t plan on playing yet), do you think i have an okay chance?
