I think one of my main hooks that I want to expand upon in my essay is how I was diagnosed with a severe primary spina biffida with complications after removal of a tumor in my spinal cord that I have been forced to deal with my entire life. After almost a dozen surgeries to make sure that I haven't had a regrowth of the tumor I really have an almost intimate connection with medicine and I have been able to grow through that and do better than I thought I would have been able.

I actually am getting an article on my experiences published in the National Journal of Nephrology, which I'm not sure how good that is.
