I think one of my main hooks that I want to expand upon in my essay is how I was diagnosed with a severe primary spina biffida with complications after removal of a tumor in my spinal cord that I have been forced to deal with my entire life. After almost a dozen surgeries to make sure that I haven't had a regrowth of the tumor I really have an almost intimate connection with medicine and I have been able to grow through that and do better than I thought I would have been able.

I actually am getting an article on my experiences published in the National Journal of Nephrology, which I'm not sure how good that is.

I think you have a pretty decent shot. Your academic stats looks impressive. Make sure to get around a 2200 SAT when you take it in October.

Your ECs are pretty good as well. Your hook is interesting and touching, especially in the eyes of admissions officers. When writing your essay, try not to make it sound like you're looking for sympathy, but rather how you have grown from it and how it has impacted your life.

Good luck in college!

That's exactly what I intend to do. Thank you so much for your input!

No?? Thanks for the constructive criticism...

Just a quick thing. Adding that you intend to be pre-med in college in your essay might be beneficial. Like say that you wish to help people overcome their difficulties in life just as you have with yours.

Good luck again! : )
