Do I have a chance?

I'm a sophomore, 1st semester, at small LAC in South Carolina. Looking to transfer because after toughing it out for 3 semesters, I don't feel like my current college is such a good fit for me socially. Just out of curiosity, do I have what it takes to get into a more prestigious college? I mean, I don't think I have a chance at an Ivy or anything, but what about some top LAC's? Looking for somewhere more liberal than my current college.

Some stats:
Race: white
Gender: female
Family Income: about $25-$30K/year (money is definitely an issue, but I should be able to get need-based aid, right?)
Hometown: Columbia, SC

Major: History
College GPA: 3.89
College Extracurriculars: Newspaper staff (section editor & layout staff); College Democrats (president); Students for Environmental Education (secretary); Gay/Straight Alliance; Freshman Honors Seminar (last year); Chinese scholar (traveled to China on a Maymester this past summer); International dorm resident; work study in the library

High School GPA: 4.95/5.00
SAT: 1410/2070
Rank: 2/about 275
High School Extracurriculars: Yearbook staff (editor-in-chief); Color guard; Student government (homeroom representative and senator); Beta Club; Kids Kamp volunteer; Was in a school play; Church youth group; Church Bible study; Church nursery worker; Summer job at CVS pharmacy
High School Awards: National Merit Commended Student; B-27 Club (Honor Society); Rotary Club Student of the Month

did you post this already? maybe i have a bad memory

i think you will be a very competitive applicant to many of the top 10 or 20 lac's..ivy's would be very hard to get into but you may have a shot at a couple of the "lower ivies"

unfortunately however, financial aid for transfers usually is somewhat underwhelming

I did post a similar thread a few days ago, but my question was different this time. I just copied and pasted my stats from it though, so that's why it seems familiar.

Yes, you have a good chance. Check college websites to find out their need based aid policies for transfers. You should be able to find some that give most or all of need in the form of grants for your income level.
