I was not trying to make a very specific point, more trying to illustrate that the OP does not bring diversity to the table. You all took what I said much too literally.

Luke23, I think you are on the right track and you have 2 more years left of school. Take the hardest classes, don’t be a joiner of multiple clubs just to have something to put down for EC’s on application. Find your passion and try and fit EC’s around that. My son will be attending in the fall. He had a 3.6uw/4.2w gpa. Sats were1350/2030 ACT 30 He had good EC’s and 3 letters in varsity baseball. Took the most difficult curriculum in high school, had excellent recommendations and wrote some good essays. Attended a catholic high school in the northeast and was the only one to apply to Wake from his school. He was in the top 10 of his class also and a national merit commended scholar. I think the most important thing for him was his interview. He flew down to Wake for the interview after applying and the gentlemen that interviewed him liked him very much because he kept in touch with my son by email after that. I personally believe that the interview can be the deciding factor. My son happens to do very well face to face as he is very personable. Don’t worry about your race and gender (my son is a white male) just keep up the good work and try and apply with the best grades as possible. Good Luck.
