I was wondering if I would even be considered to be accepted into UCR.
I go to school in SoCal, I have a college GPA of 3.125
my SATs are horrible SAT Reasoning: 1100
ACT:17
over 200+ community service hours
in TONS of extra curricular.
First generation.
So do I have a chance?

I don’t think Asians get credit from affirmative action, unless you talk in your essay about how being a first generation has created obstacles for you academically

Your GPA is probably good enough to get you into UCR, but I dunno about the SAT,

most people here average around 500-600 for each section of the test, for about 1500-1800

The extracurriculars should help in the apps, especially if you’ve worked for good organizations that have reputations. It especially helps if you’ve held a position in that organization, rather than just being a member

200 hours of service is a lot though

thanks(: I hope I get into UCR.
I’ve been studying and taking practice SAT questions everyday.
so hopefully I raise my SAT score.
