Do I have a chance? ):

I'm 16 and in the IB program. To be honest, I was extremely lazy freshman/sophomore year, and so my grades weren't that great, so obviously, i lost my chance at valedictorian (or anything close). Despite that, I still am in the top 10% of my class :D, (freshman+sophomore year GPA unweighted average: 3.5). This year (11th) begins my first in IB (the first 2 years were "pre-ib") and so far, in the first quarter, I've managed straight As with all being 95%+. So there's obviously a large turn-around. I'm also co-founder and co-president of a new Environmental club at my school, which has gained tremendous ground since launch. My HL choice is math(but at my school, HL math is only 1 yr instead of 2, so they average a 3 on the exam) along w/ English/history. As for my SAT scores, I have no idea where I stand now, but after doing some practice, I hope to be in the 2100+ range. I'm not sure of my ethnicity (parents' country of origin is in S. America, but ancestors from S. Asia). If it means anything, I volunteered at a hospital for 75+ hrs during the past summer.

Thanks for actually reading all of that xP

So yeah, my question is this: What are my chances at getting in MIT, Carnegie Mellon, UPenn, or U of Miami's 6-year med program?

My major is split between engineering alone or engineering w/ pre-med.

Thanks >.<

UPENN or MIT i know ppl generally get 39-40+ on their IB and SAT scores for them tend to be around 2150+ for a well qualified applicatn. International will be a bit harder but if you have something that stands out, youll have a decent shot. otherwise MIT is a high reach and upenn is a mid-high reach. CMU is a low-mid reach. dunno abt umiami
