Mostly the fact that you're out of state lowers your chances. But like they say, your chance is 0% if you don't try. (I'm not in yet so you don't have to listen to me if you don't want to).

gpa 4.18 weighted....SAT 1300 (v - 500 m - 800) ...in cali....my extra curricular stuff was average.....my essays were decent.....and im in the berkeley library right now... so dont doubt urself....my roommate got in with a 1200 but i know some of my friends with a 1400 who got rejected...so anything goes... just apply and see what happens....

people should quit coming on here saying "I'm from an academically gifted high school, my IQ is 140, DO I HAVE A SHOT AT BERKELEY???!!"

EVERYONE has a chance. no one is tying your hands together. Apply.

Admissions are a crapshoot. Everyone has a shot.

What are you gonna do if we say that you DON'T have a chance? Are you not gonna apply? You are already applying to colleges. There's nothing you can do to enhance your application now.

Why are you applying as a physics major here but engineering everywhere else?

Did you take the hardest courses available to you, including some out of high school (community college, summer university, ect) classes?

Prof. Boggs did say we have the best undergrad physics department ;).
