<p>SAT is 2160, I don't know my most recent GPA but it's 4.9-5.1, and I'm pretty sure the one UF recalculates would be a little higher (did bad in art and PE and classes they don't count). Captain of debate, senior attorney and officer on mock trial, officer on moot court, summer internship at a law firm. My school is in the top 20s in the country, they only offer AP high school classes so I've had to take all APs, plus dual enrollment classes.</p>
<p>This was all information in my application. Since then I've also realized I was a national merit scholarship commended student (my school never told me lol) and been nominated for social studies student of the year. Also, due to UF not taking letters of recommendation, there were some circumstances that contributed to my low GPA I was unable to discuss, but one teacher and my counselor talked about it in my letters for other schools.</p>
<p>Also, if the deadline isn't very soon, I'd be able to add more things. I have a mock trial competition in a little over a week that I could add, and towards the beginning of march I find out if I won the social studies student of the year.</p>
<p>I'm honestly just really surprised I didn't get in, and even though it's not my top choice I was probably going to go to UF because they'd accept my AA degree and I have bright futures. Also, since this is my first decision, I'm kind of worried about the others now.</p>
<p>I think you have a very decent chance of appealing! You have to have a legitimate reason for appealing, and I think the fact that you left out a reason for a low GPA is legitimate! Definitely try for it, because even if you don’t succeed, you can be content in the fact that you did everything you could to get in.</p>
<p>As for the deadline, I don’t know. Probably in March or April if I had to guess. I’d call up admissions tomorrow, or send them an email, asking about the procedure and the deadline. Good luck! :)</p>
<p>Well the extra accomplishments are if anything just to give me the opportunity to appeal, because I read that you can’t just appeal because you think you should have gotten in. So I’m hoping if I use the extra accomplishments as a chance for them to look again, they will reverse it. And nickirows thanks a lot, was feeling discouraged that’s reassuring. I’ll send an email now and call tomorrow :D</p>
<p>They won’t appeal it based on new grades because that is not considered in admissions decisions. </p>
<p>I’ve seen many kids with 2100s and even 2200s+ rejected, and appeals truly come down to luck with only 3 out of 100, or 10 out of 300 accepted. So if you wanna give it a shot you could. And tbh a kid with a 1900 who appeals could still get in over a kid with a 2100. Its about what THEY think.</p>
<p>appeals usually end the end of march so they can get answers out before the may 1 commitment date. if your reason legitimately hurt your grades but your senior year grades are better then try appealing but your extra EC’s won’t really do much for you they just.</p>
<p>I believe as of March 1, 2012 you can request an appeal form from the UF Admission’s Office. I belive the completed and signed appeal form with all supporting documentation has to be filed by mid- to late March. The appeal decisions are rendered by the end of April. Call the admissions representitve who is assigned to the county you reside in to obtain all of the details.</p>
