Do I have a fighting chance?

Hi, since I live in FL & have Florida pre-paid, the University of Florida is my best option for price and education.

Here are my stats:

GPA: 3.7 (unweighted)
above a 6.0, weighted

Freshman: took Pre-IB & AP classes, was in band, french club, & volunteered

Sophmore: took Pre-IB & AP classes, was in band, french club, National Honor Society, founded Spirit Club & was vice-president, was inducted into French National Honor Society, & volunteered

Junior: I currently am a Junior, I am taking ALL dual-enrollment classes at a local college, I'm secretary of FNHS, i volunteer @ the Humane Society regularly, & I'm going to be inducted into NHS at my new school

AP Scores:
AP Human Geo: 2 (ouch!)
AP World His: 2 (i suck :P)
AP Psychology: 4 (there's some hope!)

I've gotten all A's in ALL of my college dual-enrolled classes so far (yay!)

SAT Scores (here's the sad part)

Reading: 580
Math: 600 :/
Writing: 600 :/

Is there hope for me to get into UF??? I'm planning to take the ACT this Spring & am hoping for better results than the SAT gave me

my UF GPA is somewhere around 4.4 from what I have calculated

I will chance back!

lalalalalalalalala

How the heck do you get over a 6.0 weighted GPA? The highest it could be is a 5.0 and that’s with A’s in ALL AP courses. With those SAT scores, either you’re lying about you GPA or your teachers give out automatic A’s…I did better on the SAT and have a UF GPA of like 3.9! Your extra curriculars are good, but you need to get those AP and SAT scores up…

For good news, UF values GPA > Test scores. Also, AP scores do not influence their decisions. I think you have a good shot, an outstanding shot if you are in the top 10% of your class which I assume you are.

torioreo, my school has crazy grade inflation

and about my GPA, i am a VERY hard worker & a VERY dedicated student…ive had a rough life & have worked my ASS OFF for those grades!!!

LMU10, yes I am ranked 4 or 5 out of 76 students so I am definetly in the top 10%

^Iwillbegator,
I’ve always heard that UF really likes their IB student and per LMU10 they regard GPA more so than test scores. So it appears you are on a good path. I suggest that after you take your ACT in the Spring, compare it with your SAT and then focus on retaking the one in which you did better.

If you actually have a 4.4 UF GPA, I think you are in.

Are you calculating it by using a 4.0 for an A with +.5 for honors and +1 for AP.

If your calculations are correct than I think you are in, especially with that high class rank.

Test scores aren’t that big a deal for UF IMO.

^ yes Ryan82, that’s how I did my calculations

I am a Junior right now.
