Recently I’ve been reading about BC and it seems like an amazing school. I was wondering if I’ve got a good shot at getting accepted early, so I don’t have to freak out too much when I’m filling out other apps.

GPA-4.75
SAT-2210
By the time I graduate, I think I will have had about 10-11 AP classes (we are really limited freshman and sophmore year, and somewhat junior year).
Currently I’m ranked number one in my class.
3 year girls varsity tennis (health problems freshman year) and I’m captain for next year. I’ve also won various awards.
Next year I will be president of Key Club (I’ve held an officer position every year). I’m very involved in this club. I helped organize a fundraiser last year that got about $10,000 for children’s cancer.
I’ve had the same summer job for the past 3 summers.
I’ve done other stuff that I will include on my application, but the ones mentioned are the ones I care about most.

i was going to say you have a REALLY REALLY good chance of getting in, but then i looked and saw that you had only 3 years of varsity tennis. don't even bother applying, they don't want you.

Just kidding!!

yeah you're fine, GPA is amazing and SAT is 150 points above middle 50%. what about some volunteer stuff? i don't see any of it up there.... BC loves community service. but other than that you're in great shape.

haha thanks for your response! Yeah I probably have about 400+ hours of community service including summer stuff. I just didn't want to list it because it can get tedious reading a bunch of stats.

only 400?????????????????? again just kidding, thats awesome. your screenname "anxiety" isn't the right word if you're applying EA for Boston College- your stats are A-mazing. what is your high school like? small/big/public/private?

I go to a public high school with about 2500 kids. I think my year has about 750 kids.

You're in. Your GPA and number of APs are particularly impressive and your SAT is great too. :)

i agree with everyone else, your chances look excellent

I agree anxiety, BC is amazing. I think I want to apply EA too but idk my chances. I'm a double legacy though which is really helpful..

*My GPA is lower than one would expect of a student applying to top-tier schools, but that is because my school is incredibly difficult and has absolutely no grade inflation. The GPAs of accepted students from my school are always lower than the average accepted GPA of the colleges because colleges know how rigorous my school is.

Stat profile...sorrryy its long its just the one college confidential made

Caronaut--I think your chances are pretty good, considering what you said about your school. What is your weighted GPA? Your ECs are really great too!

thanks! yeah im hoping on emphasizing the ECs in my interview w the midwest rep when he comes to my school. my school doesnt weight GPAs but ive taken all honors classes when possible. i loove BC so so much haha im really hoping i get in EA

Hey just keep in mind, its much more difficult to get in EA than it is to get in regular. when I applied, I was advised to not apply EA, and I had similar stats. Regular decision worked for me. I just finished my freshman year. Good luck!

Thanks everyone. Is it considerably harder to get accepted EA? I really like the school and I don't feel as if my application will improve by waiting til RD, but I'm willing to if it ups my chances.

Just an update since scores came out this past week... ACT: 34; SATII: Math II-780, USH-770, Bio-760

anxiety, where in socal are u from? pm me.

Anxiety, seriously, apply early. I don't think your application will get any better than it already is by waiting. No promises, but wouldn't it be nice to celebrate Christmas (or just celebrate a vacation) knowing you got in to one of your top schools?
