Do I have a good chance getting into these schools if I got into Cal Poly SLO

I got into Cal Poly SLO last week with a major in Business Administration

My gpa for UC’s & CSU’s is 3.92

ACT: 28

I have volunteered over 100 hours

The schools I am wondering about are:
-UCI
-UCSB
-UCSD
-Pepperdine

Thanks!

Congratulations on SLO but I think the UC’s will be tough since your GPA is below the averages along with your ACT. Since the UC application review is not only based on stats, your essays and EC’s could give you a bump. What majors for UCSD and UCSB since they do not offer Business Admin? UCI’s Business Admin major is a very tough admit. Did you select an alternate major for UCI?

2018 Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19 capped weighted and not major specific:
UCSD: 34%
UCSB: 38%
UCI: 38%

25th - 75th percentiles for ACT:
UCSD: 28-34
UCSB: 28-34
UCI: 26-33

2018 UC capped weighted GPA averages:
UCSD: 4.16
UCSB: 4.13
UCI: 4.13

I applied undeclared and business admin for my alternate.

–I have over 100 hours of community service for volunteering with various animal rescue groups.
–I have been apart of National Honors Society for 1 year (12th grade) and I was a leader of Fellowship of Christian Athletes in 11th grade. (and a few other clubs).
–I have participated in Varsity sports all years.

Do you think that living extremely close could help with my chances? I live in Southern California. Also, some people have told me the fact that I am not Asian may help with my admission (sorry if im wrong a few of my friends have told me this)

Thank you very much!

The CA public schools do not take race into account at all, so your friends would be incorrect on this. Living in SoCal would only help with admission to whatever you local CSU would be.

A 3.92 UC unweighted capped GPA and the 28 ACT would be in the low side for the UCs you have mentioned. Still in range though.
