UCLA is my goal university for transfer. I checked the transfer profile statistics for 2010 students & in regards to my major (Ecology, Behavior, and Evolution), 3.19 was the average GPA of applied & 3.51 was the average GPA of admitted (27 students applied & 3 got in). For Marine Biology, my alternate major for UCLA, 36 applied & 5 got in w/an average of 3.11 for the students that applied & average of 3.45 for admitted---average of 3.16 GPA for enrolled (2 students)! Do I have a good chance of getting in even with a strong personal statement & volunteer experience from high school?

I would greatly appreciate any responses, feedback & advice

Very slim change of getting into UCLA, sorry. Your GPA is low and you should get into UCSD which is an great school so be thankful. Not sure about UCSB because they require 3.2 for TAG. Not sure about the others.

Okay, thank you for the replies. It is disappointing that I won’t stand a chance w/UCLA but I feel better that I’ve got a more solid chance of being admitted to the other schools. I’m still going to be praying that I get admitted to UCLA

Will you be TAP certified? UCLA doesn’t consider your alternate major if you’re not in TAP.

If you’re in TAP and have completed your prerequisites for both primary and alternate majors with A’s and B’s then you should have a running chance for UCLA with your alternate major. TAP is just amazing like that.

If you’re not in TAP…it’ll be an uphill battle, sorry to say.
