Do I have a hook?

-Good grades, good AP scores, good SAT II/I scores, etc. etc.
-Female in computer science/engineering/stem in general
-Asian (not hook :frowning: )
-Extremely advanced in math - took precalc honors in 9th grade. only junior girl in multivariable calc right now. high grades in math. math award freshman year. princeton university math next year.
-Science olympiad - took home at least 1 medal in every competition the school’s team went to (regional, state, invitational levels). Captained div B team freshman year; all of the people on my events took home medals at all tournaments. Perhaps captain next year.
-CS club president - hosted school’s first hackathon, raised money for club hardware, GirlsWhoCode, and schools in need of hardware (thru hackathon and tech consulting business (am founder/ceo) )
-Columbia SHP member
-Middle school/Freshman year - had Tumblr theme blog with 20+ themes, all w/ hundreds/thousands of likes. 200,000+ views on Pastebin (shows coding + design skill)
-Interned at tech company in summer of soph year, made web application for DLAPiper (an international law firm)
-Other non-stem things about me: member of marching band (perhaps officer or drum major next year), volunteer in many service clubs, member of youth orchestra, etc. etc.
-I write good essays
-Aiming for ivy league electrical engineering

No hook per se. You’re a broadly strong candidate for practically any school – but not a shoo-in for any very selective programs.

“hooks” are features that colleges must have (athlete recruits, development cases, celebrities, URM sometimes)

You will get into some great colleges, but no hook whatsoever.

Agree, no hook. A hook is a reason a school would want you above other similarly qualified applicants (ex. recruited athlete, child of huge donor, Malia Obama etc.). Most applicants do not have hooks. As noted above you are well qualified for top schools but not a shoe-in for any as the very competitive colleges have to turn down many qualified applicants.
