Do I have a shot at Barnard College?

I'm a serious dancer from NC but don't want to attend a dance conservatory for college because I want more academics than a conservatory would offer. I have dance every day after school for 1-3 hours, which takes a toll on my GPA...and overloading on AP courses junior year with a hectic dance schedule resulted in not a single A. My unweighted GPA is 3.1 and my weighted GPA is 4.05. On the SAT I have a 600 on reading, 630 math and 710 on writing. Barnard is my top choice and I want to double major in dance and either journalism or political science. Or maybe just major in dance, I'm not sure yet. I've gotten very positive reviews on my long essay for the common app, and I plan on possibly submitting a DVD of me performing a classical ballet variation. I'd be applying early decision(11/15), but I'm taking SAT subject tests in december so I might just get put off to regular decision because of that(?). What chance do I have?

AP scores:
Spanish 4
US History 4
English Language 3
Psychology 5

currently taking AP art history, AP statistics, AP english language and AP spanish literature

also- class rank: 100 out of 403, awards: AP scholar with honor

Your problem as you can probably guess is your SAT scores and your less than stellar GPA. :frowning: I would have to say it would definitely be a reach…but it’s always worth a try & Barnard loves students who apply ED. Just try to wow them with your essays.
