I am a senior in high school and applied to clemson early. It is my first choice. I have danced for 14 years, have work experience, number 25/95 in a small and competitive private school, 1040 SAT (its low, i know :/ )4.5 GPA. However, i have let Clemson know my strong interest in the school and my father, a doctor, went to Clemson, of it matters. I applied with public relations for my first major and undecided for my second. I plan to appeal if I get denied in February. Do I have a chance?

You’re probably not going to get a serious opinion, because the truth is no one knows. Take a look at the Clemson stats ([Clemson University College Portrait](http://www.collegeportraits.org/SC/CU/undergrad_admissions)), and see where you fit.

Here’s another very useful admissions document: http://www.clemson.edu/admissions/undergraduate/documents/guidance-report.pdf

Good luck!

your SAT score is a little low so definitely try and see if you can improve it (or try the ACT if you feel the SAT isn’t your test) - alumni status definitely matters in the admissions process but keep doing well in your classes and improve that test score and you’ll give yourself a shot at getting in.

I personally did much better on the ACT then SAT so it may be worth trying both.

same here, I got a 2010 on the SAT and then got a 34 on the ACT (which is really really good), I liked the type of questions on the ACT as opposed to the SAT (more school-type questions as opposed to critical thinking, more questions though)

Also remember you can guess on the ACT and wrong answers won’t hurt your score. However on the SAT wrong answers count against you.
