Do I Have a Shot at Getting In?

Hi, I'm a junior in the best public HS in Philadelphia, and I was wondering if I should work up any hope of being accepted at Berkeley. Here are my stats:

Gender: male
Ethnicity: white
Location: Philadelphia, PA (so I'm OOS)
Income: somewhere around $70,000 (financial aid needed)

4.05 weighted GPA

Ranked 40/540 (~7%)

2200 SAT Reasoning (Math = 770, CR = 700, Writing = 730)

SAT II (Math I and II) = 750 (both)

SAT II Physics = 700

ACT score pending April 4th, anticipating a 33 minimum

Handful of honors classes, only 3 AP's (not the most rigorous course load)

National Honor Society (fairly selective at my school)

About 55-60 hours of community service per school year (over 200 total by graduation)

Job at supermarket (Acme)

A couple in-school E.C.'s (not even worth mentioning)

Excellent writing skills (for essays)

Recommendations would probably rank as an 8 (on a scale from 1-10)

All I'm trying to do is get a feel for how I compare to Berkeley-bound students. I have only recently looked into this school, so I do not know a huge amount about its admissions. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Affirmative

I think you have a good chance. I know of an asian friend who had about a 3.5 uw GPA, about the same EC's as you (he was president of Key Club however), horrible at writing (unless he somehow cheated on that), few years of sports (not major, one year football, one year badminton), and got into UCLA and Cal. I'm not sure about his test scores though.

You have a good chance of getting in.
But beware that the UCs probably won't give you much $$.
What is your UC GPA btw?

Yes. Very good.

Sorry, how do I calculate my UC GPA?

Edit: I actually looked it up (gasp) and got 4.33. It was a bit confusing, but that is what I got. What is the maximum for a UC GPA, since it's capped?
