Well, I'm a rising junior and my overall gpa is a 6/7 in the IB scale, or about 3.7 in the GPA scale. I have a decent amount of EC's, but I don't really have anything math/science related as of right now... I'm aiming to make USAMO, USNCO (hopefully) in junior year, and a couple other prestigious math competitions and awards. My question is, do I have a chance at getting MIT? I know MIT students have straight As all throughout high school and probably got USAMO at least twice... but I just want to know if I can still get MIT :X

About 120 graduating seniors every year have USAMO qualification on their resume. MIT admits about 1500 people per year. So obviously most MIT students don’t have that on their resume’.

Of course, you have a chance. Junior year is the time to shine. Go all out.

I definitely did not have all A’s throughout high school… and never got in USAMO either, so yes, of course you still have a chance! :)
