Do I have a shot at my local community college if I ED?

By Community College, I mean Wharton! lol
Stats:
Asian Male
New York State
Competitive Public-sends many grads to top schools
IB Diploma Candidate

GPA: We don't get these until later in our senior year, but a good estimate would be around 3.9 UW and 4.1 W.
School doesn't rank, but should be in the top 10 percentile out of about 130ish.

AP: English Lit (2)
World History (3)
Will take APUSH this year (expecting a 3), as well as AP Chinese (expecting 4 or 5), Macroeconomics (self study around 4 maybe), and English Lang (self study around 3 or 4).

SAT: 650 CR, 750 M, 700 W
I have taken the toughest courseload offered in school, which includes 3 AP courses and 6 IB courses.

EC: Varsity Soccer (4 years)
Varsity Track and Field (4 years, possibly captain senior year)
Math League (3 years)
Playing Guitar (5 years)
Culture club (2 years)

Work Experience: Did some private Chinese tutoring for a cornell u. student over a summer
Taught English at a proprietary school in a foreign country for a summer
Will have a tutoring job (twice per week for the next 2 years)

Volunteer: Roughly 35 hours at a local historic building.

Awards: Scholar Athlete
(I am predicting AP Scholar, National Merit Commended, and Congressional Award Gold Certificate)

Chances for:
UPenn Wharton (ED)
Princeton
Washington U. in St. Louis
U. of Rochester
Syracuse U.
Cornell U.
SUNY Buffalo (Honors)
SUNY Geneseo
and any other ones you think are a good fit for me
Thank you!

Haha, funny joke! Community college =/= Wharton loll

SAT is low and your extracurriculars are weak. I'd say reject.

from all? or just Wharton?
and what else do you think I can do to increase my chances? (besides SAT scores, i'm not too worried i still have time to pull it up)

oh yeah and UNC Chapel Hill

UPenn Wharton (ED)-reach (two of my friends applied ed last year, both were double legacy and top 5 percent and were rejected so....its a long shot)
Princeton-reach
U. of Rochester-high match or just match?
Syracuse U.-in most likely
Cornell U.-slight reach
SUNY Buffalo (Honors)-in

You'll greatly increase your chances if you try to bring up the CR score into the 700s range. Good luck!

Chances for:
UPenn Wharton (ED)-Reach
Princeton-Reach
Washington U. in St. Louis-High match/low reach
U. of Rochester-Match
Syracuse U.-Safety/Match
Cornell U.-Reach
SUNY Buffalo (Honors)-Match/Safety
SUNY Geneseo-Match

thanks
what about chapel hill though?

UPenn Wharton (ED)-Reach
Princeton-Reach
Washington U. in St. Louis-Reach
Cornell U.-Reach
The rest I don't know enough about to judge. If you are submitting your AP scores, then... well, mostly 3s are not very impressive, and a 2...Everyone who takes an AP at my school gets a 4, with a few getting a 5, and a few getting a 3.

Thanks..
Are these like unrealistic reaches? Or reaches that I may get into one of them?

Hey there... I'd be happy to give you my thoughts on your chances. First, your class rank and GPA are solid, your classes sound suitably challenging, and it sounds like you've got solid ECs as well. Your SATs are, as several others have mentioned, a bit low for some of your schools... if you could bump up your critical reading score to at least a 700 you'd be a better candidate for some of your reaches. That being said, keep in mind that several of the schools on your list are places that are reaches for everyone. Even if you were able to pull your SAT scores up to a perfect 2400, schools like Princeton would not be a "good fit." The chances I've listed below are based on your current stats...

University of Pennsylvania - Wharton (ED)... REACH.
Princeton University... HIGH REACH.
University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill... SEMI-REACH, out-of-state.
Washington University - St. Louis... HIGH REACH.
University of Rochester... GOOD FIT.
Syracuse University... LIKELY.
Cornell University... REACH.
SUNY - Buffalo (Honors)... LIKELY.
SUNY College - Geneseo... LIKELY.

Right now, your list looks a little lacking in the middle. You have plenty of reaches and likelies/safeties, but only two semi-reach/good fits. I would personally recommend trying to add a few more of these to your list. Some ideas...

SEMI-REACH: Boston College (MA), Carnegie Mellon University (PA)
GOOD FIT: George Washington University (DC), New York University (NY), University of Maryland - College Park (MD)

Oh yeah, I meant to include Boston and Carnegie but forgot to, lol.
So are these plausible reaches and I should likely get into one of them? Or is it a snowballs chance in hell?
Thanks so much!
Anyone else have more input like that?

While you are an excellent student, Penn, WUSTL, Princeton, and CMU could all be considered reaches. Personally, I'd cut down on the reaches a bit, and find more matches.

I am sure you have a shot for Late Decision at a community college.

thanks for the chances everyone!
