I apologize for making another 'chances' thread (I've made so many of them, I'm paranoid), but I'd really like to know whether making Northwestern my ED would be a complete waste.

I almost took the most rigorous course load offered at my highschool (except for one science class and two social studies classes). APs include government (as a sophmore), Biology (junior), and English, Calc BC, Computer Programming, Spanish (planning to take as senior).

GPA is 3.6 UW, 4.125 W. I'd say I got B's in about half of my honors courses =(. Top 8% of class (based on weighted GPA), a pretty good public school, competitive.

Founded a JSA (political awareness group) chapter at my school and am president, have leadership positions in spanish club, young democrats. involved with school newspaper, yearbook, math club, science club, poets society. Outside of school, I've taken piano lessons 8 yrs, guitar lessons 2 yrs, flute lessons, kickboxing 4 years, good amount of volunteer work at animal shelters, hospitals. Going to India, planning on doing volunteer work there as well, and possibly a foreign language class .

Don't have too many awards- Mu Alpha Theta, NHS, Principals Roll all 4 yrs of high school (4.0+ weighted GPA), Solo and Ensemble piano and flute superior ratings, hopefully National Merit Commended (got 206 on PSAT), best debater awards at JSA conventions..

Unfortunately, haven't been able to break 2100 on the SAT, although I took a practice ACT and scored 34 so I may just submit my ACT score if I do as well on the real thing. Taking SATIIs in Bio (this June), Spanish w/o listening (senior yr) and Math II (senior year). I'm estimating 720+ on all of them (with lots of studying!).

I realize that I don't have anything that really makes me "stand out", so thats why I wanted to post here to see if I had a shot. I think I am a decent writer, and if I do apply, I'll show as much interest in Northwestern in my essays as possible. I'd like an honest evaluation of my chances ED. Thanks a lot!
