Thanks for chancing me; I replied to your post on my thread and would appreciate if you could answer the question. :)

As for you, well done! 34 ACT is solid, and GPA looks good. Course load is stellar; I lost track counting all the APs! It also looks like you have a variety of good ECs.

High 700s/800s on your SATIIs should put you inside the bubble. I would personally put you as a Low Match, but as I’m sure you know, Ivy Leagues can sometimes be a lotto haha!

Your chances are excellent; have a good first semester grade-wise and I would have to say you’d be in.

I think you have a chance— but if you want to go into engineering you should def have a higher math sat score.

i think your ec’s are well rounded with a clear emphasis on what you’re passionate about, very interesting, unique w/ your scuba diving/space/rescue stuff, a lot of leadership.

You’re taking a lot of AP’s next year, which will look good if you get the same kinds of scores you received on your previous tests. However, 8 is a little excessive and probably unnecessary. If you can do something really great EC-wise instead, maybe take fewer ap’s to make time for that, i don’t think they’ll mind and it’ll be a load off your shoulders.

overall, you’re def on the right track, great gpa, ec’s, ap scores. i think you’re doing pretty much all you can, but try to boost your sat score. i think if you can do that, you’ll be at an advantage b/c you’ll have all the standard requirements down for an ivy league plus your ec’s are more interesting than average.

btw will you chance me?? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1494137-chance-me-dartmouth-will-chance-back.html

bumpchar10!

Yes you definitely have a chance! However I agree with carolinetillman - I think more engineering-based ECs will look better if you want to enter the engineering field.

Thanks! I really hope I make it; I have a full ride scholarship available at that school, just need to get in! :C Any other advice appreciated!

To be honest I have no idea. I would say between acceptance and low reach for you. Just make your essay super sexy and interview.

decent resume, but if you want something related on engineering maybe increase SAT math?

Kinda confused why people keep bringing up SAT…I’m going to be sending my ACT - why does SAT math matter if they don’t see it?

maybe because SAT II math is more difficult than math in reasoning…
And you have low score in reasoning, it’s bad

I thought I have already responded to this thread. Anyway, neither your SAT nor your ACT scores show a strength in Math. You should at least try to take SAT2 Math2 and get 750+ for applying engineering program in a top school like this. SAT2 Math1 does not help at all. If you really cannot do well in Math, then perhaps engineering is not suitable be for you.

Princeton isnt a guarantee for anyone, but your stats put you in the ballpark. work on your essays

So far you’re looking pretty good for Princeton. You have great EC’s and that will for sure help you out a lot. Bringing up your math scores on either SAT or ACT will increase your chances much more.

Like everyone else has been saying, your math test scores are a big deal for engineering. So if you raise those scores/do well on Math Level 2 subject test, you’ll be good. Of course, make sure your essays are the best they can be and do well in the interview (if you get one). Otherwise, great EC’s, and I think you definitely have a pretty good chance!
