this is just a basic thing, I know my rec is gonna rock and so is the essay, I just want some opinions. Please make me feel better! :D

Just don't be tooo harsh

Zero chance. 00000000000000

@ILoveMyMom
Are you serious? Well, not zero for me!

Based on your stats , I can see your GPA is excellent but your SATs are a bit low for tufts . Good ECs - shows dedication which colleges prefer OVER building an orphanage
Tufts accepts 27% of applicants and you will have a solid chance to get in if you write good essays and have great teacher recs.

A tip? If you want to SURELY impress them …don’t apply ED. I know its your dream school but ED applicants are VERY strong with often perfect SAT scores

Try to apply regular descision so you look stronger and use the time to either raise the SAT or ACT!!! I promise you you’ll excel at this time with tufts admissions ;-)

Good luck and don’t worry ;-)

Tufts is my first choice too by the way! Hope to see you there lol :)

Sent from my Desire HD using CC App

you definitely have a chance. Your ECs, for me, balance out your ACT. when you write your essay, play up your wrestling/TKD haha

Jokes… Decent chance

man this guy scared the crap out of me haha, thanks ilove

and thanks to the rest of you guys for the info! java my essay will be on an autistic boy i basically tutored while being an instructor in Tae Kwon Do :)

and good luck desi in getting into tufts! I really hope we can both get in

shameless self-bump… :D

anyone else with any comments/suggestions? and also I still think I’m applying ED because that seems like the only way admissions can get to my rec and essays and such

First off, thanks for posting on my thread! I appreciate it.
My good friend goes to tufts, and he got in full scholarship with a 2280 on the SAT and a 3.8 GPA. So, you definitely have a shot grade-wise. And I’m sure that your essay about instructing the autistic boy will be great impetus towards the admission officer accepting you. Overall, I think you have a decent chance where you stand now, but I would retake the SAT on Oct 1 since that is really the only thing that you can control now with less that 2 months till ED.

np man, these types of things take my mind of pressing matters like “what if i don’t get into college?” :D

apparently Tufts accepts either SAT and 2 SAT IIs, or the ACT, so im probably just going to be sending the ACT on over (plus I haven’t taken any SAT IIs)

also my sister said they don’t like seeing too much stuff like extra information so i’ll keep all the stats brief for them but informative

I disagree with DesiCollegeGirl and think you should def apply ED. If you know thats where you want to go it makes complete sense to apply early. And according to statistics it DOES help your chance. If they won’t accept you early when you show commitment to the school why would they admit you later? If you apply regular they are getting more qualified people using it as more of a likley/safety school so you would be overlooked more likley. there is also a smaller pool ED so they can concentrate on your app more. I think you actually have a shot. your standardized test scores are lower, but everything else seems on par. Early will help. Good luck!

bump anyone else got some ideas?

bump! …

bumppp just a couple more opinions guys

I think you definitely have a shot ED, it shows that you are passionate. If its your #1 make them know it. Write great essays and you’ll have a good chance. Good Luck.
YOU HAVE A GOOD CHANCE.
don’t listen to these
applying to Tufts early shows you have interest in the school which will help your app
