<p>This summer i am planning to do an internship with a the state government, as well as return to china again to participate in the Hanban program</p>

<p>i also hope to help with a group of Chinese teachers coming to study. I will sort of help them with communication, since I have some Chinese experience </p>

<p>So if people like presidentin28 are on the brink, what are the type that actually get in? You definitely have a better chance at JHU than me and I’m considering of applying ED.</p>

<p>First of all doing something with chinese will not guarantee entrance because he is not planning on studies East Asian STudies or a related field. The other ECs will match better with his interested of biophysics. But his ACT scores for science and math don’t seem as high versus his verbal which might create some questions. Also as a person in China right now that has met with various admissions counselors from top schools, the one thing we have all agreed on Hanban is a total joke used as soft power propaganda by the CCP and does not add a hook or anything positive to your application. I would definitely stress NOT mentioning that on your application.</p>
