<p>GPA: W 4.2, UW 3.4 (heavy courseload though, mostly APs and Honors)
SAT: 720 CR, 600 M, 700 WR
SAT IIs: havent taken them yet, but will
Essays: I've been told are really good
Reccomandations: should be really good</p>
<p>EC's worth mentioning:
Editor of my school newspaper for the past two years
press editor at NC youth legislature (also president of my club)
National Honor Society since 10th grade (also secretary of my club)
Horseback ride practically all of my life
Lots of community service</p>
<p>You have a good chance. Your GPA is great. You might want to try to get your math SAT up a little bit, even though a 600 is pretty good. I guess you can't really re-take the SAT at this point anyway... but a 600 is fine. NYU average SAT is 1300-14-something, I think, so you're right in that range. just on the lower end.</p>
<p>Study hard for the SAT IIs, especially if you're taking a chemistry or physics one. The math ones probably require lots of studying too...</p>
<p>I've HEARD (not sure) Gallatin places more emphasis on the essay, so make sure those really are good. </p>
<p>But yeah, I think you definitely have a chance.</p>
<p>Edit- Btw, when are you taking the SAT IIs? Becase the application deadline is Jan. 15th, and the next SAT isn't until a week or so after, and after that it takes like another three weeks to score them... or did you just take them last Saturday?</p>
