Any thoughts?

you know you are going to get in

haha yeah. u knew you had the credentials.

i'll be devils advocate and say FAIL!

thanks. it's good to hear from someone. anyone else...?

Honestly you don't have that great a chance of getting in. Two of my friends were waitlisted last year and both had better SAT's than you and were involved in far more meaningful extracurricular activities. You really have to go above and beyond to impress these top schools and your application just seems to be lacking.

I cried when I read this, you are going to get in full ride anywhere

the whole point is that I don't have 324234234234 ECs that i can attach my name to. I am heavily, passionately involved in these five and that's enough for me.

my personal opinion: you have a shot

you have a better shot than some other applicants that will apply (those who apply to ivy's just for the heck of it w/ 30 ACTs and 2050 SATs and averages ECs and what not.. and with 3.6 and 3.7 unweighted GPAs.. which are all good stats, but not exactly up to ivy level).... so you have a better shot than them.. the hard thing will be separating yourself from all the other thousands of applicants with your exact same stats, or maybe very slightly better (i'd say roughly 8000 - 10,000 of those applicants.. and only about 1500 - 1700 get accepted out of the entire pile of 18,000 to 20,000 applicants) through your essays and rec letters (teacher's jobs, though, so that's out of your hands)... i'd say you have a shot, definitely, but getting into Harvard, Yale, and Princeton (and really any ivy just about, but more for H.Y.P.) is really a crapshoot if you didn't cure cancer.. but i say you still have a pretty decent shot.. good luck to you

thanks for the honest input man.

i'm applying to H.Y.P. and expect rejections from all.. i have great stats and stuff (4.0 unweighted gpa, 4.6-ish weighted gpa, many ap classes, 35 on the ACT, etc...) but as far as me having outstanding achievements, not really.. i mean i didn't write a book or cure cancer (well, no one has.. but just a metaphor) or create some new government law or whatnot.. i have the stats, but separating myself from everyone else with the same stats is hard.. i'm hoping for the best for myself, but i'm not going to put much thought into getting in.

if they pick me, then i was wrong; i didn't get rejected

if they deny me, well no surprise, i still have plenty of other great schools (duke, northwestern, etc..)

either way, i won't be upset.. i'll either confirm my initial belief of rejection or be happy that i somehow got in

again, good luck to you.. maybe we'll both get in!

i hope, at least

other SAT IIs?

There is a chances thread, so I would say you have no hope since this has not been placed in the correct area.
