Do I have a shot?

i have a 3.3 gpa and 1940 on my SATs any shot at NYU? I want to major in politics/pre law

I believe your SATs may be a little low (shoot for a 2050 or so) and your GPA is too, but I would still try. No one exactly knows what they look for in the admissions process.

NYU is a wild card. It’s pretty hit or miss every year. But those SATs are really low, and I’d be skeptic of that 3.3. If you could turn that 3.3 into a 3.4 or even a 3.5 and you could get that SAT up to a 2050+, you’d be much more competitive.

I think you’d be very competitive if you’re SAT was 2100+. But right now it’d be a little bit harder.

Please chance me back: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/695637-please-chance-scared-junior.html

NYU is getting tougher every year. My brother (NiraliMag) got into Stern, and I am a junior applying ED to Stern also. If you want to go really badly, apply Early Decision to Steinhardt, and then transfer into CAS. It is really easy to do. Transferring into Stern or Tisch is difficult, but possible however. That is the best I can do. Get your SAT up while you have time, if you get a 2050+ it will balance out in my opinion!
