Do I have a shot?

I'm a 16 year old Caucasian male. (If only Jewish was a minority)

I live in New Jersey, pretty close to Princeton.

My SAT Score is 2310. 720 CR 790 M 800 WR

(Currently Semifinalist for NMS but I'm not sure they care).

I've gotten 4 B's in High School, everything else has been A's.

I got a B+ in Hebrew Language, Geomertry, and Bio Freshmen year, and a B+ on Hebrew Language Sophomore year.

Other than that I'm sporting all A's. I'm in the top 10% of my grade without a doubt.

I'm taking AP US History and AP Language this year, and have straight A's this year as a Junior.

I have 4 AP's next year. AP Calc BC, AP US Govt. and Politics, AP Chemistry, and AP Literature.

I go to a Jewish school with a duel curriculum and have double the classes, and spend double the time every day in school.

For EC's: I'm a senior editor of two of my school's publications (one of which is distributed internationally). I won a gold, silver, and bronze medal on a first place Science Olympiad Team. I'm Captain of our school's Trivia Bowl team. I'm on the Mock Trial team. I've participated in Stock Market competitions. I'm on the school's chess team. I'm on Model UN. I participated in our school's Math League Team which placed first in the state.

I have a ton of extra curriculars clearly.

I help organize prayers every Saturday (which I hope counts as community service to an extent).

So what are my chances of getting in?

I took a Chemistry SAT II but due to a mistake by the proctor I got screwed out of time and ended up with a 680. Not bad but not good enough to send to an Ivy League. I'm taking the SAT II in US History, Math II, and Physics, so hopefully I do well on those three and don't need to send in the chem score.

So what do you think?

Hmmm or not.

u spelled dual wrong. in light of this typo, i would say no, you have no shot.

Sure - you are , I think, a fairly typical candidate. Be sure to have some safeties on your list too, but a run at Princeton seems reasonable to me.

lots of extracurrics doesn’t make an app.
lots of ECs that you are passionate about and have leadership for make an app, however!
Good luck. :)

how are you NMS semifinalist if you are a junior? I thought they don’t announce officially til fall of senior year.

other than that, looks like you have a fair shot =)

With a good essay you’ve got a chance. But that can be said about a lot of people.

They haven’t announced NMS yet. I’m just going on my high score compared to the cutoff of the past few years.

I’d be very surprised if I wasn’t.
