I know my GPA is very low. Very low. But I really have always wanted to go to USC and it's my number one. Please chance me. Thanks so much!

Hmmmmm…

On another board you posted you are applying for early decision at Duke as it is your first choice. It is not necessary to write in this forum SC is your No.1. Posters here are willing to chance a senior student.

For a possible English major I would have expected a bit higher writing score. Your GPA is low for SC. What were your AP scores? The ECs are fine. Winning a national essay contest is a highlight.

Hi! Ooooh sorry; I decided not to ED to Duke since I visited both Duke and USC since I was torn between the two: USC seems like a better fit.
For AP scores, I got 4s in Bio and Chem and 3s in WH, Spanish, and Calc AB. Not that great.

You should definitely apply if USC is your first choice. As for your chances of getting in, it’s definitely the GPA and test scores that hurts you the most. You extracurriculars look very good. So work hard on the essay and get some great recommendation letters.

Thanks! Ya, GPA and scores are pretty low…
Any other suggestions?

ignore all these jerks saying your stuff is low- IT IS NOT you’ll be fine if your essay and short answers are unique and good

Wow! thanks!

There’s no point in being nice and saying YOU’LL GET IN when no one really knows. It’s a toss up. For every school. And yes gpa and scores are low, but you have ton of other things to make up for it. So no one can really tell u if you have a shot. you’ll just have to wait and see as much as that sucks.

moongoosp’s (or whatever his username is) comment was unnecessary.

dukealltheway, the posters from whom you received input and whom moongoosp chose to insult are some of the most knowledgeable and considerate on the board.

Thank you to all of you for you input!
All I could do now, I guess, is just wait and see. I really hope I get in!
Thanks again!
