Do I have any chance AT ALL? (ED or RD)

Here are my stats:

-GPA: 3.61 unweighted, 4.02 weighted
-10 Honors classes taken, 5 AP taken (all 4’s and 5’s on the tests)

-Will run college track if my times permit (14.91 in 110m hurdles, 41.09 in 300m hurdles), both indoor and outdoor

-Senior class president
-Founder and President of Philosophy Club
-Founder and President of Pyschology/Sociology Club
-President of Politics Club
-Diversity Club member- went on school trip to Canada, and hosted a student from Canada for two weeks
-Debate Club member
-“Friends of the Orphans” Club member- went on week long mission trip to an orphanage in Mexico during spring break

-225 Hours Community Service completed upon graduation (of 125 required for graduation)
-Varsity Track for school (two years JV, two years Varsity)
-Run club track during the summer and off season (Track Athlete Year Round)- went to USATF Junior Olympics NATIONALS for 110m hurdles
-Very, very good recommendations
-Graduated Summa Cum Laude from a prep school in Arizona
-School does not rank, but about 25 out of around 200 usually graduate Summa Cum Laude

-SAT: Math 730, Writing 760, CR 710, Total: 2200

-?Possibly going on a mission trip to Tanzania to help with cataract surgery for underprivileged children
-?Possibly going to study philosophy at Oxford for two weeks over the summer

-Wrote a very personal essay about my father’s alcoholism, and how he took his own life when I was eight years old. It is very, very good (If I dare say so myself).

bumpppppppppppppppppppp

You, my friend, have hit the jackpot. Brown would admit you hands down. Just work dearly on your essay.

Apply now!!!

I can’t say that you are in, but can only say that you have good chance. Your academics can be improved though…

Brown will not admit you “hands down.” No such thing. They reject 75% of valedictorians. Look it up. However, it is absolutely worth the cost of applying.

First, the good: sports looks solid- if you’re female, doubly so. The Mexican and poss-Tanzanian trips are def impressive. If Oxford is just a matter of you pay and you get in, it won’t mean as much as if it is competitive entry.

The I-dunno part: your alcoholism tale better wrap with some nice arc. Just a survivor tale will be a problem. (Btw, “If I say so myself” is not the test. Have someone back you up on its greatness- preferably a teacher experienced in coll app essays- not on CC.)
Your founder/pres bit looks odd. You’ve founded 2 subject clubs- and serve as pres- I wonder how much draw there was. And, it’s just not the same as founding a biz venture club to support kids somewhere. etc. Maybe these ECs go at the bottom of the list.
Last thing: a diversity trip to… Canada-??? Can you frame it? You worked with Native Americans, impoverished kids, what?

I can personally guarantee that you are in. ONLY if all your stats are true.

^ How come only 3 days before this thread, the OP wrote: “I am not sure what my SAT scores will be, but I presume they will be somewhere between 2100-2300 total.”

They don’t have the SATs in August or July, and June scores had been out for 2 months. Huh. I guess miraculously he found his scores 3 days later out of nowhere.

I projected the scores based on the scores of my PSAT. Does sarcasm make you feel important, clouder?

they tend to favor early applicants, according to one of their admissions officers (at an info session)…it’s binding, tho
