I SAT and ACT arent the greatest...1850 (math:570, Reading:640, Writing:640). 27 on my ACTs. I have a 4.2 unweighted GPA. As for extracurriculars I dont have as many as most people! My junior year (this past year) I was in dance, I have been in spanish club for the past 2 years and I am moving up to chaplin for senior year. This year I was inducted into the National Honors Society and the Science National Honors Society. I was also in the Key and Interact Clubs. I have done 93 hours of community service (mostly through programs with my church). I also went on a mission trip to Kingston, Jamaica this year with my school. I go to a small, college prep private school. I have always taken mostly honors classes and completed two dual enrollments last year. This year I will also complete two. I dont feel like I have as much extracurriculars as others but...I am the oldest of six and its always been tough to get involved in everything. How good are my chances?? I want to major in zoology.

get your ACT scores up…also your GPA is good and i have similar grades as you (maybe a little worse) and my college counselor said that NYU would be a reach, so for you NYU would be a target/reach…maybe in your essay, write about how you have 6 siblings and how its hard to do certain things but how you tried to overcome that by working hard in school etc… i think they would understand that you have more potential to do stuff but its difficult with having to take care of siblings and all …pm me with any questions!

It’s impossible to have a 4.2 unweighted GPA.

Getting in is the least of your worries. Can your parents pay for it?
