128 hours volunteering as a research intern at a USC hospital, worked on a project and performed various lab procedures such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, invasion, culturing cells, etc.</p>
<p>36 hours volunteering at the local library, shelving books. </p>
<p>I'm thinking of retaking my reasoning score in December to get a 2200+ even though SD doesn't really care about testing scores all that much it seems. </p>
<p>Yeah, I'm really worried about my GPA, because I know it's really low. :"(</p>

Not that it matters....I just think I can do better and I already recognize the lack of important SD places on the SAT and the extreme focus placed on GPA.</p>
<p>I think you have a pretty good chance with a good essay.
I think the stats are there. 3.7GPA may seem a bit low, but I know plenty people here who got a similar or even lower GPA. In fact, their SAT's were lower than yours too..</p>
<p>Having said that, I'd say UCSD has gotten really competitive.. I know a couple of cases where a guy got accepted into Berkeley and rejected from UCSD.. Something completely unimaginable a couple years ago..</p>
