In State but currently out of state.

I’d say you have at least some chance. I certainly saw people with fewer credentials in my time at RIT, so depending on the selectivity of the specific programs you’re applying to, I don’t think the application process will be a real problem - just focus a good amount of time on your essay and proofread your application carefully to ensure you’re presenting yourself in the best (yet still truthful) light.

Where you might run into trouble is financial aid. RIT is likely to only offer you a little aid, the standard package, based on your credentials. If you qualify for need-based aid, don’t expect too much more than that, either - they don’t give out a lot of money for that. In state/out of state doesn’t matter for RIT tuition, the only in-state benefit you get is access to TAP funds from New York state.

Hope this helps you.

If you are a female that would probably be in your favor, as they have summer programs to try and attract girls to engineering.

I am a junior with a 3.1 GPA and a 1940 on the SATs
Do you think I could get in?

At RIT, when you apply you are applying to a specific major and the grades and scores needed for the various majors differ greatly.

Pages 48 of 56 and 49 of 56 in the Prospectus may help you:

Good luck!

Civil engineering yes?

Well I’d rather do automotive because someone told me they are better at tat then in Aerospace.
