Do I have any matches on this list of LAC's?

I'm applying to both big universities and smaller colleges, but after this very inspiring speech my spanish teacher gave in class today i again started to lean towards the LAC's.

GPA w- 3.9
uw -3.7
4 ap's senior year

Sat - 2050 (V630-M740- W680)
Toefl -112
SAt 2 - bio 720, chem 680, taking math in november

Ec's -
tennis team 4 years, volunteer at the library, volunteer in ukraine 2 summers
ineterested in languages, fluent in 3, taking another 2 (in spanish ap now), my spanish teacher is writing me a lor. i'm also ukrainian, but have a greencard. money is not an issue (at this point at least)

Colleges -
carleton
macalester
middlebury
kenyon
wesleyan
bates
vassar
hamilton

I believe that Macalester, Kenyon, Bates and Hamilton could be your matches/high matches. What are your safeties?

If you wanted to stay in California, I think that Pitzer could be a safety and Scripps could be a match. Not sure exactly where Claremont-McKenna would fall, but Pomona would be a reach.

Nester - good suggestions, I agree with them and to add, CMC would be a reach.

thanks Nester but I want to get out of california. I’m looking at schools in the northern part of US

You might want to throw Kalamazoo on as a safety. It has a more “intellectual” atmosphere that it looks like you are going for from your college list.

Denison, Depauw, and Bucknell would all be “match-ish” and are all similar in personality to Hamilton.

What about Skidmore?

isn’t skidmore an all-women college in cali? that’s not what i’m looking for

^^^

Nope (you’re probably thinking of Scripts). Skidmore is a co-ed LAC in upstate NYC.

Earlham College in Indiana is similar to Macalaster, but probably more match/low-match for you. They love internationals.

I doubt i will apply to any aother colleges because i already have 25 schools on my list and can’t cut it (my parents want me to apply to certain schools…)

I think that t1388 has it pegged correctly.

What is your entire list at this point?

Consolation -
Umich
boston c
syracuse
rochester
tufts
northwestern
georgetown
bucknell
lehigh
UCLA
UCB
UCSB
UCD

Michigan - reach
BC - match
Syracuse - safety
Rochester - match
Tufts - match
Northwestern - reach
Georgetwon - reach/high match
Bucknell - match
Lehigh - low match/safety
UCLA - match
UCB - match
UCSB - safety
UCD - safety
Carleton - reach
Macalester - match
Middlebury - reach
Kenyon - match
Wesleyan - high match/reach
Bates - match
Vassar - reach
Hamilton - reach

brewerfan, i though that most colleges that you said are matches are actually reaches for me

You probably have lots of matches, but without rank it’s hard to say. And can we assume no FA application, that will make a huge difference.

hmom5
yes, i’m not applying for FA, my parents are willing to pay, even though i have no idea how))
and i don’t know if my school ranks

also rec’s are pretty good, my spanish teacher let me see it today and it was good)
