If you read all of this, i heavily appreciate it and would like to know your honest opinion
Thanks in advance

I say you have a shot, but who knows what is going on at the admission office?

Honestly, my advice is this: DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT RIGHT NOW. When late summer rolls around, start polishing your resume, present yourself in the most flattering, sincere light, and cross your fingers. At this point, it just isn't worth losing sleep over. Enjoy the rest of your junior year.

i am no way that kid who is like' AHH GOTTA PANIC ABOUT EVERYTHING' i just had my college meeting with my guidance counselor so it put my mind to it

honestly if you want to put yourself in the door get a 2250 or 2300

sat wont matter much for our year. a 1960 is fine.

I disagree about the SAT not mattering for our year. I think what will likely happen is the Admissions people will deduct the writing score and look at CR and M together, similar to the old SAT. So in otherwords, the SAT will count for just as much and they'll look at the Writing test as just an additional SAT II.

i disagree with amnesia as well...i would say if u want to be competitive u should aim from 2180+

good advice everyone, so a 2200 makes me a possible candidate?

sat ain't everything... maybe score higher... i would try for 700s in all three categories... that is good.

Apart from the SAT, your business & investment initiative, Spanish skills and your writing will make for an interesting application. What are you most passionate about?

gianievve id say the business aspect im most serious in pursuing where as such things as writing and music are hobbies that i throughly enjoy, an incorporation of both would be an interestin ideal for me ( business in music industry or entertainment somewhere along those lines)

After going to April Hosting and meeting the admitted class, and hanging out with current freshmen, it seems like the adcom is looking for personality. Almost everyone I met there was just very personable.

If this helps you at all, the Dean of Admissions said they were looking for the "leaders of tomorrow."

Honestly, I'm very impressed by your stats, you have a lot going for you! I will agree with most of the people on the board and say that your SAT needs to go up. But other than that, I hope to see you as a frosh in 2006.

Best of luck!

i'm not so sure about the sat.

i know about 10 kids with solid sat scores... 1450+ for my year who got rejected from top colleges. simply put, they didn't have anything to "make them stand out"

i don't know if a lower sat score, but rockstar stats.... like being compassionate by A LOT of things helps.

i think that you have a good chance... perhaps we will both be competing for an early decision space? ;)

enjeneer i appreciate it and id hope to be there then mos def
so basically ill just up those sat's so theres not a lot they can criticize me for, im not stressin but i do appreciate everyone puttin in their input

For now, just study hard for your APs. It's too early for you to stress about getting into college (although it looks like you're definitely qualified for Princeton), but 6 APs is a lot, and Princeton will want to see 5s. (not that I've started studying for APs or anything....I've been out sick with senioritis :D )

hahaha yeaaaa studyin i should do that sometime
but im pleasantly surprised that most of yall think i have a shot or am qualified ( pendin sats or not and all)

I hope princeton wouldnt mind some 4s....AP calc is KILLING me at the moment...

i hope they don't mind any 1,2,3,4,5 :p

Meh it's so random. My friend and I both had very very good academic stats and were still canned. Just get yourself into a good "range" and you're set. Just make sure you stand out somehow and have enough activities to keep busy. Who knows. I say anything above 2200 is fair game for Ivies.
