Im interested in an economics major (international economics)

my gpa and ECs seem week compared to all the accepted people but its worth trying.

i know i dont have a hook, a low gpa, and weak ECs. but im going to apply anyway (cant go where you want to if you dont try!). was just wonderin what your opinions were. would it help that i got a strong rec from an alum?

and about the APs, thats pretty much as many as i could take. only others would be ap spanish (not good enough at spanish to risk it), ap comp sci, ap bio and i think thats it. oh whoops, forgot to say also taking AP physics c or chem next year, not sure yet though

2390 SAT is crazy, but 3.70UW/4.02W GPA isn't as impressive. Princeton is a reach for anyone, but that 2390 sure makes you look good! Where else are you looking?

huh. in my opinion, you have a pretty decent shot at Princeton - you need to show a dedication to a particular EC or at least a particular ideal. Right now, you remind me of Walter Sobchak. You don't even NEED a hook with your scores, you just need to show a passion of some sort.

i think my passion would be my work with my religion if anything. Ive been going to hebrew school since first grade, went to israel with the confirmation class last year, still in hebrew school (we dont learn hebrew, its philosophical now) and teachers assistant to 2nd grade hebrew class helping kids with disabilities. Thats probably the only thing im close to having a passion in, unfortuatenly. a passion that would show at least.

someone just mentioned to me the Junior Statesmen of America summer program. I think im going to apply for that at Princeton for this summer.
