Do I have any shot of getting in or am I wadting my time???

I am a white male New Jersey resident and I am interested in Maryland. I plan on majoring in business, specifically finance/accounting.

My EC's are:
FBLA 11, 12 (webmaster)
DECA 12

I have been a basketball referee since 9th grade and have refereed many games each year. (I have an essay written on this topic that is about 3100 characters long)

I was also a camp counselor the past 2 summers.

My GPA is a 3.71 (An A is a 4.3, not 4.0)
My rank is 99/445 (Top 25%)

My SAT scores are:
Math- 660 Reading- 450 Writing- 610
1110/1600
1720/2400

What would you say my chances are?

Hmm..I'd say the SAT score is a tad on the low side (considering competition can get a tad fierce around here.)

Your GPA looks good, and the ECs aren't bad (good choice on writing on one of the dedicated ones).

I'd say u have a decent shot, perhaps raising the SAT score would help. I got in with an 1890...

i would say your chances were 50/50 only because of your SATs. if you took them again and got everything above a 600-650, you're chances would be much higher..especially if you apply before december 1st. then i'd say it was like a 70 percent chance. but the business school has been really competitive lately so you might not get into it but still can apply junior year, or at least that's what i've been told. i'm also a (tentative) accounting major! :)

You really think I have a 50/50 shot? I thought I had pretty much no shot. Please note that my school does GPA differently and that on a 4.0 GPA scale my GPA would be about a 3.4

well, you don't have NO shot. i mean 50/50 is kind of like i'm not sure how they'll be feeling when they're evaluating your application..cuz i myself am just a freshman so i'm not too sure how the whole thing worked when i was applying..but to make ur chances more on the "definitely" side, u just have to do what i said which is pretty much get better SAT scores.

I am not reatking the SATs, so I would have those scores.

I would definitely retake the SATs. As of now, I would give you about a 20% shot for Semptember admission and maybe 40-50% shot for January admisson.

You are out of state. You need to retake the SAT for chance.

could I get in with a 25 ACT, 3.4 UW, 3.88 W gpa? IN STATE

letsplayball89 I think your chances are very slim. It would be hard to get in as a resident with your SATs
