Do I have enough time to prep?

I'm trying to decide whether to chuck my SAT subject test scores and take the ACT instead. Haven't taken it before.

Do I have enough time to prepare for the December 8th test?

Math/Science are the areas I really need to study. I've taken part of one Science test just to see if it was worth even considering the ACT, and it seems to me that logic and chart/graph reading are the real necessities. Math is very mixed as to difficulty.

Any thoughts? Time = 2.5 weeks, with five days free over Thanksgiving to focus.

yes, you have time.

just don't procrastinate hahah

Any suggestions or tips?

I figure: a practice test a day in Math and Science + error analysis.

Don't expect to get your scores before February...

^LOLOL very true. they're FDSHAFHS SO UNRELIABLE.

i would make sure i know the math that would come up (if you aiming high, know trig?) and make sure you have timing down 'cause science kills.

timing i would say is the biggest issue..

I think you have plenty of time. I studied the 5 days before the test (not on last day though). Just get as many practice tests under your best as you can.

2.5 weeks is MORE than enough time.

I studied for 2 days before the test and got a 33. The beauty of the ACT is that you don't need to study...there are no tricks (as oppose to the SAT), and everything you need to know you've already learned in high school.

You don't NEED to study, but you should definitely get familiar with the format of the test, since you will probably feel more confident if you have an idea of what to expect.

Honestly, you have no need to study. I didn't. Granted I didn't get an extremely high score, but a practice test a day will wear you out.

Just remember to budget your time when taking it, the ACT is a test of speed

If you have 2 minutes, it's enough prep.

I spent more time thinking about what to eat for breakfast than preparing for the test, and I did pretty well...
