For some kids, starting in the Summer may possibly turn out to be to their benefit. Kind of like a long orientation....get familiar with the school, other kids, etc... and feel at home when the Fall semester starts.

I agree. I was accepted to Fall but if I decide on PSU I'm going to call and change my admission to Summer. Sure, it'll be hot, but I'd rather get oriented with the campus and the entire "college life" system while there aren't too many people on campus. It might be just me, but I think that adding 40,000 people to an already stressful situation (finding your way around, getting used to everything in general) would be kind of scary. And this is coming from someone who lives half an hour from UP and goes up there all the time; I'm STILL nervous. :P

Ok, I'm still a bit confused. If she gets into summer (and not fall) does she automatically move on to the fall semester, or must she maintain a certain GPA? LEAP seems like the way to go if you're doing summer. Any thoughts on that vs straight registration in random courses.

well idk if psu will give everyone who got accepted to fall a summer spot, they have to fill all the students who got into summer first and im sure there is only a certain amount that they accept the summer program

Hayze - If she gets in for summer, she will automatically move on to fall, as long as she maintains passing grades. My S did LEAP, and really liked it. The classes are small, and you're with the same group of kids in both classes. Be sure to sign up as soon as the registration starts, because some of the popular LEAP prides fill up quickly.

Do you think we'll hear this week? A friend of mine heard two weeks ago and was accepted with biology as her major. Does Penn State waistlist many applicants?

did kids who put psu down as #1 but had a #2 school down hear already if they didnt get into main?
