Do i have potential???

Ok heres my SAT score

CR 590
Math 790
Writing 700

Total 2080

Math level 2 800
Physics 750

(check the rest of my stats from my previous posts.)

I know my SAT scores not high enough to qualify for any of the bs/md programs...
My question is: what SAT score would you consider a "safe" score???

Also how many volunteer hours at the hospital did those who got accepted have???

Thanks a bunch

get that CR up to 700. i had a 670, and your math score, but my writing was 800, so get your CR upto 700 for sure.

i got accepted to penn state, st. bonaventure, and drexel, and i only had like 30 ish hours of volunteering at a hospital… but i had other good medical ECs.

Wut othet medical experiences did u have if i may ask??:)

i’ve done two medical research projects, one’s a published paper. and some 80ish hours of shadowing an invasive cardiologist…and i think i volunteered much less than 30 hours come to think of it…but that’s pretty much all my medical ECs. (my mom’s a doctor though, so my life is a medical EC, haha.)

Critketman,

Which program are you in now?
Why did you chosoe that program over other two?

Thanks!

highschool students aren’t allow to shadow doctors here in Canada; it’s illegal lol…

that sucks lol

Cricketman, don’t most of the schools look at your CR + Math and neglect the Writing Score?

Apply widely. Some programs are not as competitve as others. Do research to get your list. My D. did not apply to most known at all, instead she focused on the ones at our state schools. She got to 3 programs, so that she had choices.

MiamiDAP, do you mind posting the universities your D applied to?

I appreciate it.

or anyone for that matter…

oneproudkorean, i believe they’re starting to look at writing more as well. (and even if i’m wrong about taht, i’m sure they still don’t just completely ignore a really bad or really good score.)

lnguye02, i’m actually going to start penn state this year. i picked it because it’s six year, i liked it when i visited, and basically it just felt right.

oneproudKorean,
D applied in Ohio. Residency status makes a difference in some programs (MSU, NEOUCOM), but id does not matter for others. D. applied to NEOUCOM, U of Cinci program, U of Toledo BME / MD program, Case’s PPSP (the most competitive), MSU ( the only one OOS).

Could someone PLEASE make a list of universities with the program that accept a relatively large number of INTERNATIONAL students…

its hard enough getting accepted OOS.

oneproudKorean,
I am not sure if you can apply to the combined programs as an international student. Please do you research. Most of the combined programs require you to be either a Green Card holder or need to be US citizen.

I’m a US citizen though lol but live in a different country
